Call for Participation: Greenland Invites Input on Market Dialogue on Large-Scale Hydropower Tender

In relation to the upcoming competitive tender for Greenland’s largest hydropower potentials, Tasersiaq and Tarsartuup Tasersua, the Ministry of Business, Mineral Resources, Energy, Justice, and Gender Equality invites interested parties to participate in an information gathering process (Request for Information) as part of the ongoing market dialogue.
30. June 2025

The purpose of the Request for Information is to support the Government of Greenland in identifying relevant offtake industries and in assessing their significance for Greenland’s long-term development. Furthermore, the process is intended to ensure that the competitive tender reflects Greenland’s unique conditions while remaining aligned with international market expectations.

Alongside the Request for Information, the Ministry publishes updated versions of the tender documents, including drafts of the Request for Qualifications (RfQ), Request for Proposals (RfP), the Hydropower License and a Competitive Tender Process Plan. Interested parties are welcome to participate in the market dialogue and may direct inquiries to Abeline Bentzon-Tarp or Maja Heegaard at hydropower@nanoq.gl for further information.

Questions regarding the enclosed material should be submitted in writing. Responses will be provided as soon as possible; however, some delay may occur due to the Government of Greenland’s summer holiday period in July and early August.

The deadline for submission is 22 August 2025. If this deadline cannot be met, alternative timelines can be arranged through direct contact.

Bilateral market dialogue meetings will be available from mid-August. Meetings can be arranged upon request.

The insights provided during the earlier dialogue regarding the development of the tender materials are highly valued. Continued interest and active contribution to the process are encouraged, with the aim of ensuring that the tender materials serve both Greenland’s interests and those of potential investors.
