The Government of Greenland has finalized the framework for the upcoming tenders for the Tasersiaq and Tarsartuup Tasersua hydropower projects. Recognizing the critical importance of the government take model to investors and lenders, the Government has designed a model that supports bankable project structures while ensuring that public value is captured from the development of Greenland’s largest hydropower resources.

In relation to the upcoming competitive tender for Greenland’s largest hydropower potentials, Tasersiaq and Tarsartuup Tasersua, the Ministry of Business, Mineral Resources, Energy, Justice, and Gender Equality invites interested parties to participate in an information gathering process (Request for Information) as part of the ongoing market dialogue.

As a result of the recent Greenlandic election, a new government has been formed. This also entails a new minister responsible for the upcoming tender of Greenland’s largest hydropower potentials.

An election has been officially scheduled in Greenland, set to take place on March 11, 2025.

Greenlandic media outlets about the Government of Greenland’s objectives in
the realm of the green transition.

From September 18 to 20, 2023, Minister Kalistat Lund traveled to Maniitsoq and nearby settlements. During this time, participated in several meetings with the communities initiating a dialogue on the hydropower potential of Tasersiaq and Tarsartuup Tasersua.
